Question
Jason,
For MOS field 02, intel, what was your favorite part and why?

Also, for parachutist, 9962, what did you do?.. (i know u jump and all haha) but what i mean is, there are Recon Marines, parachute qualified, which is a different MOS, so what did you differently than them?

Also, any extra info that you would like to add would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

Answer
Matt:

9962 is the MOS identifier for a "Marine Parachutist".  It's not an actual MOS but rather an identifier for someone with an additional job skill.

Recon Marines who are para/scuba qual'd would get an additional identifier stating that as well, in addition to their primary MOS.

Since I wasn't recon, I didn't hold that MOS.  I was just lucky enough to go to Airborne School.

Intelligence is alot of fun, it's a challenge every day.  The part of the job I liked the most was being able to become the 'duty expert', regardless of rank, on a particular country or topic, and go from there.  You also got to do things most people didn't, as well as being required to think and then justify your opinions.  It was challenging and interesting at the same time, with a good bunch of people.

Expertise

Questions relating to US Marine Corps; rank, awards, uniforms, career choices. I can also help people spot and expose fakes (people pretending to be Marines or have awards they didn`t earn). Considering the Marines as a career? Or another branch, like the Air National Guard? Drop me a line. HOWever..know that I am NOT a recruiter. I can offer my expert opinion and advice, but can't (and won't) over rule what a recruiter says, they are the 'on duty' expert.
