Careers: Military--Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard/Marines or Navy?

Question
Hey Jason, I am really considering joining the military, but I'm not really sure
what I want to do.  I have been looking into the marines, because i figured if i
join the military i better go all out (if you know what I'm saying.) But as i was
doing my research on the marines i came across the Navy Seals, and i was
wondering about that as well.  As both of them tending to be really good i
don't know what i should do... What do you think is a better choice, the
Marines or the Navy Seals and why?

Answer
Joe:

The SEALS are a great choice, nothing wrong with them..however, the training for a SEAL has over an 80 percent washout rate.  If you wash out, you'll be in the fleet scraping barnacles or some such your entire enlistment.

With the Marines, you stand an excellent chance of making it through recruit training and infantry school, statistically speaking.

It's really up to you which you want to go with as far as what you want your military career to be like.  Both, as I said, are very good choices, but I'm biased (of course) so I'd personally go Marine...  :)

 Best regards,

  Jason

Questions relating to US Marine Corps; rank, awards, uniforms, career choices. I can also help people spot and expose fakes (people pretending to be Marines or have awards they didn`t earn). Considering the Marines as a career? Or another branch, like the Air National Guard? Drop me a line. HOWever..know that I am NOT a recruiter. I can offer my expert opinion and advice, but can't (and won't) over rule what a recruiter says, they are the 'on duty' expert.
