Question
Dear sir,
my husband had 4 years and 8 months in the navy as an enlisted that he really wants to join any branches right now, but he has some medical problems:diabeties, hypertension, depression ect. - he does not take any medication now that I can get letter from his doctors to support that, and he has 90 percent disability rate. He will have his BA in august 2007,he is 40 years old, and he wants to join as an officer. I respectfully request any advise that could help him.

Answer
Hi Alta,

I'm sorry, but it he has a "90 percent" disability rate, he is not going to be able to join any branch of the U.S. Military. It's just not going to happen.

Even if he had only a 30 percent disability rate, it wouldn't happen. I'm sorry, but you can't be "legally disabled" and be eligible to enlist in the U.S. Military, or access as a commissioned officer.
