Question
If there is a suspicion that off base military housing is being used by more then a spouse and dependants where can a private citizen go or call to report to start an investigation?

Answer
Hi Debbie,

Is the off-base housing owned or contracted by the Military? Or does this member live off-base at Military expense (ie, receives a housing allowance and pays rent, out of the housing allowance)?

If the off-base housing is owned by the Military, or is one of the designated Military Housing "contract" housing areas, then most bases have regulations or policies which restrict overnight guests to no longer than 30 days, unless the member receives permission from the Base Housing Office.

However, if the member simply receives a Military Housing Allowance, and lives off base (paying rent), they can have as many people living in their house as they wish (it's a matter between the member and the landlord).

Hope this helps!
