Question
I have served 5 years enlisted and 3 years as an officer in the National Guard. Have I met my service obligation of 8 years or did my MSO restart when I commissioned?

Answer
Hi Fernando,

Everyone who joins the Military for the first time incurs a total 8 year service obligation. Your five years as enlisted and your three years as an officer in the Nation Guard would have satisfied this.

However, your contract for commission with the National Guard may have (and probably did) result in a further MSO. No way I can tell, as I don't have your contract in front of me. Your National Guard contract should list the requirements of any additional MSO you would have incurred as a result of accepting a commission in the National Guard.
