Question
Howard,
Thank you again for your response to previous questions. My application for the Navy Reserves has been received and I am prepping to take the ATSB tests.

My application for DCO is geared towards either a PAO or Intel position. However, do you know if, as a reservist, I will be able to work towards a Navy Warfare Qualification in addition to my role in either PA or Intel?

Should I end up in PA, I feel this additional understanding would only increase my ability to work with sailors and civilians alike telling the Navy story. In addition to making myself a better officer to serve the Navy's needs.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thank you,
Mike

Answer
Mike,

Anything is possible for you at this point however you are starting to get into the limited realm of my knowledge of the Navy. I would suggest that once you are on the "Inside "of the fence, then I would ask those questions. If the NWQ is what I think it is, I whould lean on the side of saying that it sounds like something that Most Navy officers get. But then thats only speculation on my part.

I would take it one step at a time and proceed towards waht ever goal you have set for youself. It appears that you are on your way. I am sorry that I dont have the difinitive answer you seek in regards to the NWQ. I wish you the best in your new endevor.
