Mr. Lorenz,

Do officers also get loan repayment assistance as enlisted men do? I graduate in December and I will be about 45k in debt from student loans and I was wondering if officers get the same educational assistance as enlisted men.

There are some programs specific to Officers. I was never privy to the officer side of the house when I was a recruiter. From what I have seen just googling the subject, that there are programs out there that can get you up to 65000 in repayment depending on houw you enter the service. The Navy has that one. To be sure contact each recrutier for each branch of service and ask them the hard questions. Just becasue you are inquiring, doesnt mean you have to enlist and dont feel obligated to any one service...thats their job. Oce you have the information you need than put it out on the table and do a pros & Cons listing. This process will identify the service with the best options..

I have spent the past 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, 3 years was assigned as an Enlisted Accessions Recruiter. I have been deployed various times to several locations. If it is a career in the military you are looking for or thinking about I most likely have the answer. If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do. If I dont answer right away probably means that I am busy, but have patience, I will get to you.
