Question
My son served 2 tours in Iraq both during war and peace keeping. He has been diagnosed with PTSD by both civilian and military dr. if he is discharged with this medical disorder, will he loose all of his military benifits?  IE: GI Bill and any other things he would be entitled to?

Answer
Hi Lisa,

See my article at: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/theorderlyroom/a/medseparation.htm

As far as the MGIB, if he recieves an honorable discharge for medical reasons, he would recieve one month of MGIB benefits for each month served on active duty, up to the maximum of 36 months.

Hope this helps!
