Question
Hello Mr. Powers,

My grandfather just passed away a few weeks ago.  He served in WWII, and up until this week, that was all I knew about it as he never spoke about his time in the service.  Due to my extreme interest in the subject, I 'inherited' all of the military items that were in my father's posession.  I think that my father knew more about it, but he passed away 6 years ago as well.  Among this collection is his military records which show that he served all over Europe with the CIC, was in charge of the security for Nuremberg Trials (I think just the prosecutors), and many many patches and medals.

I was hoping to find out more about these patches, etc...  Is there a website, military contact, or somewhere I can find this information out?  I already have a call in to someone who works in the Holocaust Museum in D.C. to hopefully find out more info about his service at Nuremberg.

Sorry for the long-winded explanation, and thank you in advance for your help!!!!

Sincerely,

David Millman

Answer
Hi David,

You may wish to try the About.com Military History Site at: http://militaryhistory.about.com

The Guide of the site should be able to help you with any military-history specific questions for information you can't find on the site, itself.

Hope this helps!
