Question
Hi my name is John Ramos I was in the marine corps for 5 1/2 months I was discharged from the marine corps for anxiety with an re-4, at the time i was going through alot of things and stress in my life not only with the military life but mostly with civilian life. I know as though I am much beter and will do anything in my powers to show that I am ready and able to return to the marine corps. Is there anyway possible to rejoin, get cleared by a civilian doctor, and military doctor. Anything. Please give me an opinion on what i should do, and if theres anything i can do. I Want to serve again and do what it takes to get there. Thank You.

Answer
John:

There is not much you can do with an RE-4 code.  You might try talking to a recruiter, he may be able to give you some suggestions as to courses of action you could follow.  If you were discharged for 'failure to adapt' while in recruit training, those kind of discharges are extremely difficult to reverse.  Still, talk to an active duty recruiter and see what they say.  If the 'condition' you had is no longer an issue, and can be attested to by a civilian doctor, you may have a chance.

Good luck,

Jason

Expertise

Questions relating to US Marine Corps; rank, awards, uniforms, career choices. I can also help people spot and expose fakes (people pretending to be Marines or have awards they didn`t earn). Considering the Marines as a career? Or another branch, like the Air National Guard? Drop me a line. HOWever..know that I am NOT a recruiter. I can offer my expert opinion and advice, but can't (and won't) over rule what a recruiter says, they are the 'on duty' expert.
