Question
Hi there, my problem is this... i had joined up with the army in '04 completed boot camp, had a week at home , came back for AIT and popped on a random drug test. i was given a chapter 14 discharge with a re-4. i am very interested in joining the marines. my reason is redemption for a mistake i made when i was 19 years old. i had began the paperwork for a general waiver, and was rejected due to the re-4.
QUESTION: is there any way i can re-up? any advice would be very helpful.

No. If you popped positive on a drug test you are inelegible to reenlist into the Marine Corps. You might try the National Guard, they *may* waiver you for that but it's going to be an uphill climb. Generally, once you get kicked out on that type of discharge, you can't re-enlist into any branch of service again.

Field Radio Operator: MOS 2531. Served as a Platoon Sergeant in a Communications Platoon assigned to MEU Service Support Group 24 (Special Operations Capable). Did a hitch in the Army reserves as an 11B (Infantryman), 3 years. Finished out my career in the Air National Guard as a BioEnvironmental Engineer MOS 4B3X1, did that for a few years.
I"ve been collecting and selling Marine Corps and other military uniforms, medals, and field gear since I was 8 years old.
