Careers: Military--Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard/Reenlistment Question

Question
Hi Jason:

Long story short: I was selected to attend Navy OCS as an NFO, but decided shortly b/f arriving that I wanted to pursue a different field of study.  I DORed (dropped on request) at the earliest opportunity (I told my CO and other officers present that I reported b/c I didn't want to be reported as AWOL and was unaware of how to cancel my orders to report), was given an RE-3K reenlistment code and a KHD separation code.
I have since been attending law school and am preparing to look ahead to the future.  My question is threefold:
1) Do you know if it is possible (or reasonable) to apply for either the Navy or the Marine Corps JAG program, or does my RE-3K pretty much kill any chance of becoming a lawyer/officer in the military?  I know (and OCS made clear) that applying for OCS would be a waste, but Navy JAGs go through OIS (Officer Indoc. School).
2) What about enlisting - would my RE-3K disqualify me from seeking to reenlist with the Navy or Marines?
3) Besides good LSAT and law school grades, is there anything I can do/say that would increase my chances on obtaining a waiver for either general reenlistment or OIS?
I appreciate any help/clarification you can provide!

Answer
Kevin:

Ordinarily, I'd say your RE3K DQ's you from re-applying, but the military is always looking for certain specialties, medicine, law, and the like, so you might stand a chance.  I'd suggest talking to an officer recruiter and seee what they have to say about the situation.   Again, your chances are not good, but if you have a law degree, it may be something the military is willing to waiver.  Certainly worth looking at if that is what you really want to do.

Questions relating to US Marine Corps; rank, awards, uniforms, career choices. I can also help people spot and expose fakes (people pretending to be Marines or have awards they didn`t earn). Considering the Marines as a career? Or another branch, like the Air National Guard? Drop me a line. HOWever..know that I am NOT a recruiter. I can offer my expert opinion and advice, but can't (and won't) over rule what a recruiter says, they are the 'on duty' expert.
