Question
After being taken off of TDRL, how long does it take to receive the awarded severance pay? Also, do the count the years of being on TDRL in their calculations?

Are you talking about Military medical retirement pay? If so, it should be almost immediate.
Are you talking about disability compensation from the Veteran's Administation? If so, that is a separate application process (see: http://www.va.gov), and could take several months.
Are you talking about involuntary separation pay (see: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/2007paycharts/a/seppay.htm)? If so, that should be paid within 60 days of discharge.
I'm afraid that time on the TDRL doesn't count for medical retirement pay and/or involuntary separation pay. These pay charts are based on years of active duty service.
