Question
I was just recently DQ'ed for headaches that I had quite some time ago.  I was wondering if there was anything more I can do to get in after being turned down?

Answer
Hi Andrew,

You didn't say which service you were trying to join?

When MEPS medically disqualifies a person for medical conditions, they are using the Department of Defense standards (which apply to all the services).

Waivers are then up to the Surgeon General of the particular service you are trying to join. You, yourself cannot request a medical waiver. That request must come from the recruiting command of the service you are trying to joing. Recruiting commanders make such waiver requests, based on several criteria, including, exactly what the medical condition is, and whether or not it is likely to pose problems during basic training or at other points during the person's enlistment; how well-qualified the candidate is (ASVAB scores, education level, etc.) compared to other recruits who don't need such waivers, and finally; how bad that particular branch of service needs new bodies, at that particular point in time.
