Question
my son is currently in boot camp with the marines and is not doing to well..he has signed up for infantry,and is having major second thoughts about it ..he wants to stay in the marines but change his field...is that possible? and if so how does he or I go about doing that ? thanks for the answers...................~desperate soldiers family

It's possible to change but it will depend on the needs of the Marine Corps at this time. Once he graduates and reports to his first duty station he can look into that. I know it sounds stupid but try not to worry so much, it's normal at this stage for some folks to have second thoughts. He'll eventually start to sound better in his letters. Not much comfort I know but it will get better, believe me.

Field Radio Operator: MOS 2531. Served as a Platoon Sergeant in a Communications Platoon assigned to MEU Service Support Group 24 (Special Operations Capable). Did a hitch in the Army reserves as an 11B (Infantryman), 3 years. Finished out my career in the Air National Guard as a BioEnvironmental Engineer MOS 4B3X1, did that for a few years.
