Question
i was wondering what the difference between the army, navy, air force, coast gaurd? are all the boot camps the same?

Answer
Each of the services have a different primary purpose.  You may want to read my article, "U.S. Miltiary 101," at:  http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/generalinfo/a/military101.htm as the article discusses the differences between the branches.

Basic training is not the same for all the branches, nor are they the same length.  For example, basic training for the Air force is about 6 1/2 weeks;  for the Army about 9 weeks;  for the Marine Corps, about 12 weeks.

They also teach different things, depending on the needs of the service.  For details, see my basic training articles at:  http://usmilitary.about.com/od/joiningthemilitary/a/basictraining.htm

For more information about joining the United States Military, feel free to visit my military information website at:  http://usmilitary.about.com

Hope this helps!
