Question
I've already have taken my ASVAB to join the coast guard, so now I have to take a drug test in 2 weeks. A couple of days ago I took a couple of ecstacy pills for the first time. I just want to know what kind of drug test they will give me,(by urine, hair, blood). Also, do they give lie detector tests? Do you think I'll pass, what do you recommend?

Answer
Hi Jessica,

I don't want to be critical, but WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU???????

All of the services have "zero tolerance" for drugs, but the Coast Guard is even more-so, because they are the premire law-enforcement agency to guard against illegal drugs!

What in the heck were you thinking?

At MEPS they will do a urinalysis.  Unless you are a frequent user, it's doubtful that it will show up positive two weeks after use.  One thing to keep in mind, however, once you go onto active duty, you are subject to no-notice drug-tests at any time.  If you show up positive, it can mean a court-martial, and time spent in military prison.

So, get this out of your system, right now!  Especially if you're wanting to join the Coast Guard.

Hope this helps!
