Colonel Bedell, Is there a complete list of options ,opportunities and enticements for new enlistees or for one who is reenlisting? Thanks David in North Carolina

Dear David --

I am afraid it is difficult to get a complete answer to that question.  At any given time, not all specialties are open.  Certain specialties have higher requirements than others.  Your Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery determines the specialties for which you qualify.

New enlistees can go to http://www.goarmy.com/flindex.jsp
to explore the options available.  Remember that opportunities change throughout the year, so if you cannot get the bonus or occupational specialty you want this month, it may be available next month.  Also, the longer you enlist for, the bigger the incentive payment will be.

Soldiers reenlisting should also check out the above site, and talk to their reenlistment NCO or officer.  The unit reenlistment office should have all the information on incentives to reenlist and occupational specialty change opportunities.  Soldiers looking to reenlist should go to the Army Knowledge Online website https://www.us.army.mil/suite/login/welcome.html and search for the reenlistment opportunities highlighted there.
