QuestionIts probably a no brainer but im confused when i read my contract..On my les my ets date is dated exactly 3 years from when i joined the army..Looking at my contract, it states on the first page 3 years and 19 weeks..Then on the third page it states that i requested to be discharged at three years..Is my ets date on my les the true date seperation..Thanks in advance..
AnswerDear Richard --
Since I cannot see your paperwork, I cannot give you a full answer. However, I can give you some guidelines to consider.
If the date you signed into reception center, was the same day you signed your contract, then your ETS would be three years from that date. If you took any time between your contract signing and your reporting date at the reception center, your ETS date is three years from your entry at the reception center.
If my reading of your situation is right, you signed your contract 19 days before your required report date to the reception center. Thus your ETS is 3 years from your reception center reporting date, and is correct on your LES.
If any of the above is not true, get your paperwork together and go to finance and personnel and get your entry date, and ETS date corrected. The sooner you do this, the more likely you are to get it fixed and be released from service when you expect.
Thank you for serving. Good luck to you.
