Question
Can I enlist into any branch of the military with a first degree robbery charge, simple robbery charge and a G.E.D.? It has been almost 7 years. I have been triing to enlist for two years now but to no avail. If you know of any loop holes that may be possible for me to take advantage of, can you help me, please.

Answer
Hi,

The simple answer is "no." It's (barely) possible to enlist in the Army with a previous felony, but the only one's I've seen approved are those with exceptional qualifications, such as a very high (95 or over) ASVAB score, or a college degree. This would be if there were no other charges. You've got the felony, plus another criminal charge, plus, you have no education (no high school diploma, and/or no college credits).

As this point in time, your chances of enlistment are slim-to-none. You can improve your chances (for the Army -- I doubt, for any other branch) by getting an Associate's Degree from your local community college. Otherwise, in my opinion, your chances of joining are not good.

Hope this helps!
