Question
QUESTION: hi, i am currently in the Hawaii army national guard and i was wondering if there is a way to switch to active army and station in Korea, because my whole family lives in Korea and i would like to be closer to them.

ANSWER: Dear John --

Talk to an active duty branch manager (detailer) in Alexandria Virginia immediately.  They are always looking for Soldiers that want to serve in Korea.  If an open billet matches your MOS and rank, they can activate you fairly quickly and get you on your way to Korea.

Use your Army Knowledge Online website to get the phone number or e-mail address of the active duty representative for your branch and rank, then contact them to discuss what you would like to do.  They should be happy to help you.

If you cannot find the information you need, please write me back with your rank and MOS and I will try and find out your point of contact.

Good luck to you.

Answer
John --

I am TDY for the next three weeks.  I will try to get your point of contact info in Alexandria VA, but I may not get back to you until the end of October.

Please write again, if I have not written you by 30 October, with the information.

Best regards.
