Question
Can I enlist into the air force and go to BMT in between my Junior and Senior year of high school and then go to my Tech School after I graduate Hight School? I know the Army offers this, they call it "split ops".

Hi Dan,

I'm afraid you can't.

The Army offers the "split" option program for those who join the Army National Guard or Army Reserves. The option is not available for those who join the active duty Army.

Several years ago, the Air Force used the "split option" program for those wishing to join the Air National Guard, but gave it up, when it no longer was necessary in order to meet their recruiting goals.
