Question
Lets say I have a GED. I take 15 hours of college classes to bump it up to a Diploma. Do you think I would have a good chance at getting into BUD's? Everyone I ask says that if you have a GED, and you take the 15 hours, they will make it a Diploma. I just want to know if the Navy will accept me saying I've done this. I know I have to be chosen for BUD's, but I know what I have to do to get in, and I'll do whatever it takes. So, GED+15 hours of college=Diploma, can I get in?

Answer
Hi John,

If you have a GED and you get 15 or more college credits, you become Tier I Education Level. In other words, you're on the exact same level, whether it comes to enlistment qualifications, or potential enlistment jobs, as someone with a high school diploma.

Hope this helps!
