Question
Hi, I was really considering joining the military (not sure which branch but maybe the army) and I'm wondering if you have to be a certain weight and height. What if you're obesed or underweight? Do you have to be healthy? Also, I have bleached hair. Will I have to dye it back to my natural color?

Answer
Hi Yan,

Each of the services have weight charts they use to determine if someone is or is not eligible to join the the particular mailitary branch, based on height and weight. If one exceeds the weight on the chart, they undergo a body-fat measurement, and each of the services have their own body-fat requirements for joining.

For details, see my article at: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/joiningthemilitary/a/enlstandards.htm

Hope this helps!
