Question
my girlfriend and i are engaged and i am leaving for boot camp oct. 15 and we are trying to figure out a date when we can get married next summer. my question is how will i be able to pick a date to make sure i wont be deployed and that i will be there for my own wedding?

You won't be able to. Picking a date this far in advance is pure folly, since you have no idea what unit you are going to, or their rotation schedule. Wait until you have graduated recruit training, school of infantry, and check into your next unit before you even consider getting married...and I'd wait at least a year after that anyway to see if both of you are ready to be married while you are in the Corps. Most young marriages fail due to deployment schedules and the needs of the Corps.

Did a hitch in the Army reserves as an 11B (Infantryman), 3 years. Finished out my career in the Air National Guard as a BioEnvironmental Engineer MOS 4B3X1, did that for a few years.
