Question
Sir,

In July I was placed on meds for high blood pressure, both my lower and upper numbers were high.  I was given water pills to help lower the rate.  I went back last Tuesday and they checked my blood pressure again and it was still very high so they gave me another perscription along with the water pills.  My question is, if my blood pressure doesnt go down can they med sep me for hypertension?

S.E. Riddle

Answer
Hi,

They can, but it's unlikely. There are dozens of medications which can control hypertension (high blood pressure). If your blood pressure doesn't go down, they will likely just keep changing the medication until they find one that works for your particular body.

I spent the last 10 years of my military service, taking medication for hypertension, and I've known hundreds of other military people who have done the same.

Hope this helps!
