Question
Hello,
I actually have a question about getting married in the coast guard.  Myself and my fiance are both in the coast Guard (E-3) and are getting married next year, and we were wondering what the BAH was like for us. Do we both get our own separate BAH, or would we only get paid BAH for one member. Thank you!

Answer
Dear Megan --

You will both get BAH but at the single rate, not the "with dependants" rate.  When you have children, if you are both still in, one of you can claim with dependants, the other will still get single rate.

Good luck to you both.  Thank you for serving.
