Question
I am navy veteran, I did 4 active and 4 reserves. I recently graduated with a BS in Criminal Justice, Can I could go back in the Navy and go into the JAG'S Program? Or what's the process to get there.
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Edith,

See my article about prior service enlistments at: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/joiningthemilitary/a/priorservice.htm

Whether or not you can get a slot as a "legalman," depends entirely upon if there are any open slots available, at the time of your application.

To become a JAG lawyer, you *must* have a law degree (and pass a State Bar).

Navy JAG commissioning programs can be read at: http://www.jag.navy.mil/Careers/CareersPrograms3.htm

As you can see, a *maximum* of only 25 officers (Navy and Marine Corps) are selected for the program each year.

Hope this helps!
