Question
I have a soldier in my national guard unit that was promoted to e-6 prior to the 1993 requirement for NCOES schools ie: PLDC, BNCOC, and ANCOC.  He has just been conditionaly promoted to e-7, without ANY NCOES schools.  My question is, will he have to complete PLDC and BNCOC prior to ANCOC, or just ANCOC?  He claims that there is a "grandfather clause", but I have found no supporting documentation.  If there is such a "grandfather clause", please tell me where to find it.

Answer
Hi Nikki,

I'm not sure I would call it a "grandfaterh clause," but I can find no directive which *requires* previous levels of PME be completed before completing ANCOC.  As ANCOC is a requirement for E-7 promotion, my best guess would be that this is all he has to complete.

Hope this helps!
