Question
Hi Rod, here's a very particular question I've had difficulty answering. Years back - had to be back in the 70s - I know it was common practice for the U.S. Air Force to get a minister to bless newly commissioned missiles. Can you tell me if that's still what's done?

Hi Michael,
I assume you're talking about strategic nuclear missiles?
If so, there is no way to tell if such a "custom" would still exist, as the Air Force has not "commissioned" a new missile in almost 30 years, nor are there any plans to do so.
