Question
my question is there such thing as a buddy system? because my
boyfriend is leavin soon and i want leave until nxt year until after i graduate and i want to be located with him. it would really mean alot if you can help me.

Answer
Shatora,

Yes there is such thing as the buddy system. But the program only works if you both are leaving at the same time. If you are not leaving unitl next year, then this program will not work in your situation. If your boyfriend is leaving soon, by the time you graduate and are ready to leave for BMT, he will be stationed.

Now the questions you have as yourself is such:
1. What is your relationship? I ask this because if your relationship is as serious as you think it to be, then after you both are in the service, then you have the option of getting married. This will place you at the same base. I wouldnt get married before. To be truthful and blunt, most relationships even those who are married before, do not endure the long separation during training. This is why its important to know what your relationship is.

Shatora, your main mission right now is to finish school so that YOU can get in the service. I will tell you that its not going to be easy whatching your boyfriend go off to training, but if you keep the lines of communication open, then it will all come together later on. The separation will tell you if the relationship was ment to be, becasue if your relationship can not with stand a long separation, then it wasnt meant to be.

I hate to be blunt, but I have seen this so many times where a girl will change her plans in hopes that the relationship does not change  only to find that later on that is was a bad decision. Your relationship is what the BOTH of you make it. The most important thing is your career at this point, you both can tie up the loose ends later after the training is done...

I hope that this all make some kind of sense to you. if not, hit me again and we can go in to more detail....

I have spent the past 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, 3 years was assigned as an Enlisted Accessions Recruiter. I have been deployed various times to several locations. If it is a career in the military you are looking for or thinking about I most likely have the answer. I still have contacts with in the recruiting field and if I don't know the answer then I have folks who do where I can find the answer. I am very blunt and straight forward and will make no attempts to BS you. I will give you the best information that I possible can can. If you think that you cant handle the answer that I give you, then don't ask the question...... If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do. If I dont answer right away probably means that I am busy, but have patience, I will get to you.
