Question
I really want to join the Air Force and, don't think I can with a GED.I have asked allot of people now one knows.

Answer
Hi David,

"Technically" one can join the Air Force with a GED, as long as they have a 65 or above ASVAB score. Realistically, it's almost impossible.

The Air Force applies a quota to the number of GED applicants they allow to enlist each year. For the past several years, they've allowed in less than one percent (about 1/2 a percent) of their total enlistments each year with a GED. Those selected are usually exceptionally well-qualified otherwise (90 or above ASVAB score, established work history, employment experience in a career that Air Force finds desirable, etc).

That's the bad news. The good news is that if you get 15 or more college credits, you are in the same educational enlistment category as a high school diploma-holder.
