Question
what do i have to do to switch to a different army national guard unit in a different state? how long does it take? thanks.

Answer
Dear Jesse --

Unfortunately there is no predictable amount of time for changing your National Guard unit affliation.  You must find a job for which you are qualified in the state you want to be in, and then apply for that job.  Each job in each unit in each state is different.

Please contact the National Guard representative in the state you wish to be in.  A good starting point is this web site:

http://www.1800goguard.com/whatistheguard/whatis_interstate.html

That should help you find the information you need to begin a State transfer application.

Good luck to you.
