Question
What is the role of the Hospice Nurse in:
•   Hospice facilities (hospice houses)
•   Nursing Homes
•   Hospitals
•   Patient’s homes

Answer
Hi Juanita and thank you for your question.

The role of a hospice nurse and any nurse for that matter can vary a great deal, especially
in the different settings you have sited.
Essentially the role is to care for the patient as they transition through the process of
dying. This includes many things, as nursing does for all patients. The role would probably change from setting to setting and patient to patient. Family or friends, or the lack of them, would also
impact the role of the nurse, as she strives to care for and support the patient's transition.

For a thorough discussion on the the subject you're interested in, I recommend doing a search
on Google on the 'role of hospice nurse'.

Best of luck to you !
