Question
Hello. I've always wanted to become a nurse, and specialize in a certain field, but I never knew which to choose from.

It wasn't until recently that I narrowed it down to three fields I want to get into, but I just cannot choose which one. I want to specialize in genetics, ob-gyn, and researching as a nurse.

My question is to ask if these three fields are similar to each other. Is there some way I can major in all three while really having only one major?

I hope that you can answer my question. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. You have a great day!

Sincerely,
Theresa Knutson

Answer
Dear Theresa:

First you must attend nursing school from two to four years and become a nurse before you choose a specialty to work in.

During your nursing education you will experience many different specialities and you  may be surprised you realy like one of those instead.  Give yourself time to get thru your nursing edcuation first.  Neither of the specialties you mentioned are related to the other.

Sincerely,

Mary Pat
