First, what is hospice care? Second, I'm doing a report and I want to know how to deal with children who are hospitalized for extended periods of time?

Hospice cares for people who are terminally ill. You need to GO to a hospital who cares for children and ask questions there. You will never get the answers you need for that subject by asking on line. CAring for children who are hospitalized for extended periods of time is something you FEEL, not just something you "deal" with. Are you in nursing school? I do not feel any empathy from your question.
