About Don Wood
Expertise I have been a professional photographer for 26 years. Wedding, portraits, passports, copies, groups pix, reunions, etc. Specialty in photography of large groups. I also have worked in newspaper photography for most of my photographic years. I have built and maintained a b/w darkroom, and a color darkroom.
Experience I have been a professional photographer for 35 years. I am transitioning to digital photography so I might be able to help in that field. I'm retired now but am still able to be helpful in the field. I have built a b/w, color darkroom, worked in a color lab, worked in the newspaper field both in darkroom and as a shooter.

Question I am a NY based photographer who shot an event here in NY. A 3rd party company from MD has contacted me to purchase images from the event. The images will be delivered via FTP download or on CD. They will be using the images on the web and in national advertisements. Do I need to charge this company NYS sales tax? They are not the ones who paid for my original services.
Thank you.
Answer Go to a lawyer for the answer to this one. Be sure to charge enough to compensate you for your expertise. Obtain the necessary permissions from the recognizable people in the pictures to protect yourself and the company publishing the pictures from lawsuits. Good luck to you! Sorry to not be able to help you further.
