Question
I have many beautiful pictures (mostly travel)that I would like to share and many people - some professionals also - have said that I should sell them. I would ideally love to contribute to something like a travel magazine but I have a permanent job that I need to continue with full-time. What is the likelihood of a magazine taking them and would they pay? Or would it be better to sell them on-line? In either case, what would I need to do to protect myself (other than copyrighting)? I appreciate any suggestions. Thank you

Answer
Congrats on the great images!  Selling prints on line is one way to do it, definitely.  Some magazines take stories that are pitched.   You can research the travel magazines and who the  photo editor is and see about getting on their stock image email list.  They sometimes send out emails looking to license stock images.  They do pay, depending on the number of images they use, how big the images are and what the circulation of the magazine is.

Hope this helps!
