Question
Hi,

Appreciate! You are doing a great serviece.

Qs.
I am concerned about quality of image on computer screen only. I am not asking about printing.

Is the quality of image taken with 3M camera or 2M digital camera is same on computer screen at 800 x 600 size?

Is there any reason to buy a 3M camera instead of 2M camera when I will never print them and all my image sizes on computer screen will be 800 x 600?

Thanks.

Answer
Most images published on the web are very lo-rez pix. 60-100 dpi gives better loading speed than a pix that has a resolution of 200 dpi. There is more information because there are more pixels at the higher rez. The colors will be better. It may be the difference between recording 156 colors as opposed to 250 colors. Therefore if you are only wanting to publish on the web than you must choose other factors than pixel numbers. Is the camera I'm looking at have the lens speed I want, is it a sharp lens, do I have the capability of printing if I want to? These are all questions to ask yourself. Who knows, you may wish to print the vacation pix to share with those friends who are computer-deprived. To answer directly your question the 3M camera will capture more color information because there are more pixels to work with than the 2M model. But reread what I said about the other factors than just the pixel number to consider.
Thanks for asking. It is a good question to ask. Best of luck to you in all your future camera work.
