Question
I'm in the middle of the daunting process of cataloguing my photos and should
register them. Considering it's a $45.00 per pop submission, if I were to mail
CD-Roms of my photos in a sealed envelope to myself, would that be a form of
copyright protection until I'm able to go through the Library of Congress?
Thanks.

Answer
As soon as you press the shutter, the photo is copyrighted to you. Not sure that mailing them to yourself will do anything!  You can batch register them with the copyright office.

It's a process but a good one to protect yourself, definitely. Pick a day, turn on some good music and put them on DVD's.

Good luck.
