Question
Hello,
We are a printing and manufacturing company. We normally take photo's of all the work which we produce for customers for a reference point if any future customers are looking for something similar. We have produced a promotional flier to e-mail around to our customers but did not get permission to use one of the images. The customer has since come on stating he is not happy with his image being used (though he is a graphic designer, so the image used is actually of his end user customers work)

Where do we stand with this?
Many thanks
nick

Answer
Hi Nick,

Well, the images are copyrighted by the photographer, so you should get his or her permission to use it in your advertising.  It's always better to be safe then sorry and ask permission when using someone else's work in your advertising.

Hope this helps.
