Careers: Photography/Wedding Photography

QuestionHello, my name is Rose and I am an amateur photographer and a senior in high school. I have been avidly taking pictures for about three years now and am trying to pinpoint which area of photography I would like to pinpoint my career in. Although money is not a very significant concern to me (I have no desire to be rich and living in a mansion) I would like to be well off enough so as not to have to struggle from paycheck to paycheck. I would also prefer a steady day-to-day job as opposed to a freelance job. Can you just provide me with the ins and outs of your career? The only photography I have done is simple portraits for myself or of my friends, and also a lot of rock photography, of my friends and local bands. I have been interested in wedding photography partially because my favorite thing to photograph is human emotion. Please suggest any tips you have or just describe your job, if you can. Thanks for your time!
AnswerHi Rose,
Thanks for your question about the ins and outs of the wedding photography career field.
For me, the best thing about being a self-employed wedding photographer is this is not a "dead end" job. The more talented you work to become, the greater the financial and personal rewards. Some photographers enjoy recognition in their communities for the talents. Others enjoy making over $100,000 a year working out of their homes - with PART-TIME and very flexible hours. It is also very gratifying to see the excitement of your customers as they view their wedding day photographs. Especially when they cry with tears of joy and can't stop themselves from thanking you as they view their photographs.
There is so much that has been written about professional wedding photography. Including so much I have on my website

For my opinions about the wedding photography industry, I would highly recommend that you visit my website. Especially read
