Questionhi im trying to achieve a career in photography...how do i do that? is there any money in photography and how do u get it?
AnswerLike in any job you will strive to achieve success, you must learn the craft. This craft will include the skills of running a business, the art of working with the customers, as well as the physical aspect of running a camera. I would first advise you to go as far as you can in education trying to achieve the goal. After getting the training in the non-photographic skills then you can work toward getting the expertise in the actual work. You see, cameras are so simple today to use that anyone can get pictures. But the professional must work to be in that category of skill that stands out in the crowd.
After going as far as you can in the business field you must and will continue being an observer of history. After all, that is part of photography, freezing time and recording that slice for posterity and your customer. You must go to museums, both fine art and photo and see the exhibits trying to visualize what the artist was recording. This technique is called, photographic Eyes. You'll be doing this for the rest of your life.
Yes, there is money in photography but like in all life's work, it will vary as to your skill level in all areas of the business.
You must cultivate your customers and do the very best you can to please them. This is where your money comes from whether you are on your own or work for a larger group.
I wish you luck in your hopes for a future in Photography. Just bear in mind that the more training you get the more likely you will be able to succeed. Many are called to photography, of 10 who start, maybe one may last the year and be successful. It is cut-throat out there. You are trying to get customers using equipment that is available to anyone with the money to purchase it. You must be outstanding to succeed.
Good luck, if I can help further, please let me know.
