Question
how is photography linked to the space program?

Answer
Photography provides the proof that we've been there. In addition it can provide proof of conditions that existed at the time of the picture being made. It could provide pictures of damage caused by meteor collisions. Television is a product of photography so any benefits we receive from television or video is derived from photography. The difference between the two media is that photography is a record of that one particular moment in time, whereas video may be ongoing, continuously displaying the scene it is viewing. Simply speaking, it is just like using a camera on a vacation trip or at a wedding.
I hope I've answered the question. Thanks for asking.
