Question
i got a red light ticket on a rainy day and wonder if that would block the picture  on a dark night  in new york city?
or is that jsut wishful thinking?
they take pics of the pl8 #  by a storng flashing  strobe like light and i am wondering how mcuh humidity affects this?
what can i cover my license pl8 with to prevent this form happening agin?
any film or  clear plastic
since coveirng metal plates with plastic  generates a fiine, maybe the reason y they forbid it is cuz they know it blox the cameras?

Answer
I don't think you'll like the answer. Short of putting a black plate over your license plate, there is no way of blocking the light. It is a strobe light. My advice, adjust your driving so that you don't do the crime. You know the consequences so why fight it. You'll find that this actually will help you in the long run. It might prevent a driver from running the light and hitting you. Such a system has been on the Autobahn in Germany since I was there in 1986. Sorry to disappoint. I've been on the receiving end of a crash from a driver who ran the red light. It is not a pretty sight.
Thanks for writing.
