Question
Which institute is best for studying physics at undergraduate level,
iiser or iit?
Hello Divakar:
That is a good question. From what I understand the Indian Institutes of Science and Education Research (IISERs) are only now being established while the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are very well established. Without knowing much more about the former, I would suggest that it would be wise to give them more time to develop before trying to understand how good an education they provide, however, I expect that eventually it will be strong. The Indian Institutes of Technology are understood to be among the strongest educational institutions in India. As an aside, the Chicago IIT (Illinois Institute of Technology) is pretty good for physics too! Of course, since that is my own institution, I have a bias...
