Question
Jim,
My father was PO for 26 years so I have quite a bit of knowlege of the process however I have a few questions regarding the hiring process.

I am 40 years old, no criminal history other than 2 speeding tickets.  If I take a medication for ADD that has been a tremendous help to me in my current career, do you think it will come out when they do an insurance check and if so, will it affect my chances?  The medication has no side effects and it is not a necessity that I take it.

Answer
Tony,

I don't know that the medication your on will make a difference in the hiring process. However I would suggest that your honest about it if they ask you about medication your on. I would think it would come out in your medical records. And if or when it does you may be let go for not being totally truthful. In my experience it's more honesty that Departments are concerned about. You can also speak with your Doctor and see what he says about side effects and all. Good luck.
