Hi Cmdr. I am about to go through a Police investigation and wanted to get your opinion.  I had two driving under suspensions when I was in highschool for not paying a ticket.  I have only had about 3 tickets in the last 10 years how do you think it will affect me if any?

Hey Doug,

What they like to look for is a driving record with just a ticket or two max in the last 5-7 years. If your suspensions are from way back, like 10 or more years ago, you should be OK. With 3 tickets in the last 10 years, you may be borderline. If they are all spaced out in that time then thats maybe OK, if there are 1 back 10 years ago and 2 recently, then thats not so good. But You still are OK as for a borderline goes. I would give it a shot if it was me. Hows that??

I am a 30+ year veteran police officer, I am currently the Police Academy Commander of an Academy in North FLorida. I have been training police officers since 1993 and have trained them in all aspects of law enforcement, including firearms, Driving and legal subjects including patrol techniques and others and training all over the world. I have trained over 5000 officers worldwide in the last 16 years of training.
