Question
I am 21 years old and i have a criminal record that consists of two poss charges and three misdomenors.I was 17 when i was charged of these crimes but i was married so therefore i was charged as an adult. Now i have a record and i would really love to be a homicide detective.I have completely changed my life and really would love to do this but i dont know if i can. Please if you can give me any answers i would really appreciate it.Thank you very much

Answer
Candice,

If any of these were felonies that would disqualify you from being a Police Officer. The only possible way would be to get your record expunged. You would have to contact an attorney to do that. If they are all misdemeanors then it is still possible to get hired as a Police Officer. However with more then one misdemeanor I would first contact your local PD to see if you could still qualify. Then depending on what they say contact an attorney to see what he or she could do. Hope this helps somewhat.
