Careers: Police/Unusual experience to offer

Question
Jason, I have a military background and a civilian background connected to military ops. Without going into specifics, my experience is Intel analysis, ballistics, IDing bullets and explosive components in a post blast setting or same recovered after the fact.
Do you think this is something that would be helpful or of interest to departments in my employment search?
Thanks - Jon

Answer
Jon:

If you have a degree in these things, then, yes, I well imagine law enforcement would be interested in this.   Not as a police officer, but as a tech.  If you don't have a degree but do have the experience, there will be some interest but realistically, unless you are on the degree track, there won't be much the departments can do, because courts usually want some kind of piece of paper to establish your credibility, etc.

If you are just wanting to use these things as resume builders, I'd say they are very good ones.
